Renville Health Services Receives CARES Grant from the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging

Renville – (December 23, 2020) – Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (MNRAAA) has awarded Renville Health Services a $22,850 CARES grant. The CARES grant is designed to allow community-based organizations to provide support services, such as chore services, homemaker, visiting, telephone reassurance and caregiver support services. These funds are designated to address the service needs of older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CARES grant is made possible through the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES Act funding through the Administration for Community Living and the Minnesota Board on Aging). MNRAAA is focusing these dollars on rural areas and our population with the greatest social need and those facing social isolation.

“We are seeing additional challenges to the older adult population due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have also seen new opportunities to assist our communities during these unprecedented times. This grant allows organizations to assist the older adults through unique ways”, said Jason W. Swanson, MNRAAA, Executive Director.
